Supported Living. Individualised Support. Meaningful Lives.
At Focused Care Services, we provide person-centred supported living and care for adults who may have learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs or a combination of support needs.
Based in Swansea, our service provides a safe, supportive and welcoming living environment where people can develop independence, maintain their wellbeing and take an active role in decisions about their lives.
We believe good support is not about doing everything for someone. It is about understanding the person, recognising their strengths and providing the right support to help them live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
Care that is focused on the person, their choices and their future.
About us
Focused Care Services Ltd is a Swansea-based care and support provider focused on delivering high-quality supported living for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other associated support needs.
Our approach is grounded in dignity, respect, inclusion, safeguarding and positive outcomes.
We understand that every person is different. Their history, communication, relationships, abilities, interests, culture and aspirations all matter.
For this reason, we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to care.
Instead, we take time to understand each person and work alongside them, their families, advocates and relevant professionals to develop support that is meaningful, proportionate and focused on their individual goals.
OUR SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICE
Our supported living service provides accommodation alongside personalised care and support for adults who require assistance to live safely and independently.
The service is designed to provide stability, structure and continuity while enabling each person to have as much choice and control over their daily life as possible.
We recognise that supported living should be more than simply providing a place to live.
It should provide an environment where people can:
Feel safe and respected Develop independence Make meaningful choices Build confidence Develop practical life skills Maintain relationships Participate in their community Pursue education, employment or volunteering where appropriate Enjoy meaningful activities Maintain their health and wellbeing
Who we support
Individual Assessment:
We work with the individual and relevant professionals to establish whether our service is appropriate for their needs and whether we can safely provide the support required.
Autism
We recognise that autistic people may have different communication, sensory, environmental and social needs. We work with each person to help them feel safe, comfortable and able to participate.
Co-occurring support needs
We empower independence and full potential with respectful, hands-on support for each individual— tailoring needs and delivering support with dignity and understanding.
Mental health needs
We provide consistent, respectful support for adults who may experience mental health difficulties alongside other support needs. Offering a listening ear, steady, understanding support.
Learning disabilities
We support people to develop practical skills, confidence and greater independence while ensuring that support is adapted to their individual communication and learning needs.
Culture
Our purpose
Our purpose is simple:
To provide safe, respectful and person-centred support that enables adults to live with greater independence, choice, dignity and purpose.
We want the people we support to feel that they are living their lives—not simply receiving a service.
Why choose us?
Our aim is to provide care and support through a combination of trained and professional staff with a compassionate mindset. Our care-led approach ensures that all our staff members possess trained qualifications in practical skills to deliver personalised care and support.
Our service is designed for adults who benefit from a structured, consistent and person-centred environment while developing greater independence.
We currently provide support for up to three adults, enabling us to maintain a small-scale service where people can receive individual attention and where relationships, continuity and quality of support remain central to everyday life.
Each person is supported according to their individual needs, preferences, abilities and goals.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Where appropriate, we use Positive Behaviour Support principles to understand what may be contributing to behaviours of concern and identify proactive ways of supporting the person.
Our focus is on understanding communication, reducing distress, improving quality of life and developing positive outcomes.
We aim to use the least restrictive approach appropriate to the person’s needs, rights and safety.
